Dear William [Jones]:
Thank you so much for writing and I am delighted to hear that you have been reading UFO AFRINEWS since its beginning. We started off by publishing 200 copies and now are doing 500 and I am wondering whether I should even up that figure. Looks reasonably good, doesn’t it?
I am also pleased to hear that you hand on your copies to the Ohio State [University] Library. I have orders from one library in Johannesburg, and we have recently written to several of the other top libraries in South Africa as they would be the only country who could afford to pay for this. I have also been thinking of contributing a copy to the local University of Zimbabwe, but I must admit, I have only met with derision and laughter from most of the academics there.
I have left my entire UFO collection, which is quite large, to the National Library of Zimbabwe in Bulawayo, and I know the Chief Librarian there and I also know that he will take care of my books. Thank you for the copies of your Ohio UFO Notebook. We cannot afford from here to take subscriptions to all of the overseas periodicals so it is always a pleasure to receive news from other countries. Our dollar has dropped to an appallingly low state, about 10 of yours to ours when at one time we were on par. But, that’s the way the cookie crumbles?
Thank you for your offer of help and I shall surely bear it in mind. All of the best to you and your group.
